Based on the traditional "Tumbling Blocks" or "Baby Blocks" design, this Tessatop suits the use of scrap fabrics as well as co-ordinated colour choices. Careful placement of light, medium and dark tonal values creates the three dimensional effect. The hand sewing technique of English Piecing over paper foundation shapes has been used for accuracy and ease of piecing.

This Tessatop Pack Contains

• 8 sheets of shapes printed onto lightweight card suitable for English piecing the centre panel. Additional sheets of printed shapes for this project may be purchased from Lizard of Oz should you wish to make this project more than once or extend the size of the quilt top.
• Coloured layout diagram (cover sheet).
• Progress chart. This is a line drawing of the Tessatop which may be photocopied so that you can plan different colour schemes, mark off each section as you assemble the Tessatop and plan quilting designs
• General instructions with clear diagrams for English Piecing.
• Fabric cutting guide.
• Border instructions for this Tessatop.

• Total yellow fabric (background, borders, sleeve and straight binding) 40" x 47" (100cm x 120cm)

• Thread for piecing (colour to blend with patches).
• Thread for tacking (light colour).
• Thread for quilting (either hand-quilting thread, or DMC Coton Perle size 12 for a bolder stitch).
• Sharp HB pencil for marking fabric.
• Sandpaper board.
• Scissors for fabric and thread, pins and usual sewing kit.
• Hand sewing needles: assorted sizes "sharps", and assorted sizes of quilting "betweens".
• Sewing machine (used to attach borders and binding, may also be used for appliqué as an alternative to hand embroidery).
