This table runner quilt is based on the unusual paving often seen in cottage courtyards. The inspirational patterns underfoot are usually surrounded by fragrant and colourful garden beds. A Cottage Courtyard is a place of tranquillity, just the setting for some creative stitchery.

Methods

The centre panel is hand pieced using the English Piecing method. Fusible appliqué is used for the floral border. Flowers and leaves are hand appliquéd with Blanket Stitch. The quilting suggestion is suitable for either hand or machine quilting.
