This purse is a small, portable and quick project which makes a great gift as it may be tailored to suit the personality of the recipient.
The basic purse is an ideal size on which to practice new stitches or play with different colour schemes. You could use brightly coloured fabric with flamboyant threads. Or, for a purse with a more traditional flavour, you could use black/gold or a selection of cream fabrics and threads.
This pattern includes diagrams and instructions for some simple hand embroidery stitches to enable novices to complete the purses easily. Experienced embroiderers may like to experiment with more complex stitches and additional embellishment suited to this design. This enables the novice to build up confidence by experimentation and caters for the more experienced embroiderer. Clear diagrams for all the stitches used are included in this pattern. Once you’ve made one or two of these purses I’m sure you’ll be just brimming over with ideas of your own and keen to experiment!
